We are a fourth generation family business. Valpo Velvet was started in 1947 and we still use the formulas that Herb and Gordon Brown perfected with the help of their degrees of Dairy Engineering from The University of Wisconsin. We still make all ice cream fresh weekly from scratch on the premises.

Can't believe the last review of this place was negative. Everything about VV is fantastic. Even the regular food is great. My dad never misses a meatloaf day.
I had the Turtle Sundae! It was exceptionally delicious! Like that they have a punch card too!

I wanted to bring my family here to try amazing ice cream, but that experience was spoiled quickly. I didn't appreciate my card being snatched out of my hand and then tossed back at me while trying to purchase ice cream. It was very disrespectful and unbecoming of the staff who treated my entire family in this manner. I hope what we experienced on 9/21/2019 at 6 p.m. does not happen to any other customers that try to spend their money here at Valpo Velvet.

THIS is a great place for ice cream lovers and foodies alike! Also an amazing place for those who love good food but can't have gluten (celiac or intolerance)! I have had some great meals there along side my friends unlike other places. I love that I get to have great food from the menu as opposed to watching my friends eat or getting a tossed salad and a packet of dressing and a glass of water. Thanks for including everyone. ❣️It means the world.
