The outcome of the nasty thorn and its relationship to the VA is now complete. This huge thing lived in my finger for 2 months, my body did great at fighting infection; the VA totally blew the whole deal at huge cost. 2 visits, 1 to the emergency in LaJolla and an MRI and still they took NO ACTION to remove it. I have been trying to make an appointment with my primary doctor and have had no luck. Seriously. They said I have to talk to a nurse first to triage my symptoms. They called me last night at 11:40PM. I was asleep and missed the call. Who calls so late??
The VA is the biggest pile of shit in what attention and care refers!!! If you are a veteran god fucking forbids you get sick!!! What an incompetent institution..
They have done great 1 mth from the time I was diagnosed to surgery!!
I would normally tell everyone how amazing the VA in San Diego is but my recent experience with them has been pretty horrible. I am a new mother and I am outraged by the lack of concern for my freedom to choose where I would have my pregnancy care. I am forced to go to military facilities where it seems like I spend more time traveling to get there then having my questions answered. I like the people, but it would be nice to get the chance to see them and get something started. Try to do a walk-in but no avail. Traffic guy would not let me park. Have only a letter VA to do a walk-in with My only ID DL/Passport still wouldn't let me park. But service helpline was bewildered just like I was and calm me down. A little concern was all I needed. I waited 9 years after the service a little longer wouldn't hurt.
