The care I received in the ER at St. Joe's was very disappointing. The check-in was quick, but the attention was slow, and uncaring once I encountered the ER staff. The technician that did my scan made me smile, but then right back to the folks with no compassion. I was really happy when they sent me out to the observation unit to spend the night. I had a very large fibroid removed in Monday and the staff has been amazing! My surgeon, surgical prep,nurses, techs, room service and everyone else I have been in contact with has been fabulous. I was born here for other family members have been back but after this visit, I would definitely recommend to anyone else who has a local need for care!!
I was not impressed with this hospital at all. I arrived in ambulance at 5:30AM stayed in the hall way for over an hour and half. I was given several EKG’s and a stress test. Their bedside manners were non-caring but they were doing their job. The doctor came in with good news and I was discharged later that afternoon. When they removed the sticky pads no one said a thing about my chest being burned. I was there yesterday for a procedure in the cath lab. Never ever being in the hospital except the birth of my kids back in the 90's it was great. The staff and nurses even down to the dr are the best. Nurses and staff took GREAT care of me. It turned out to be out patient procedure but the acted like I was family to them. Even knowing I had never been in this place. They All had compassion for me to understand I would be ok even if the testing showed something wrong.
