Get directionsWe are visiting family from out of town and had to make an unexpected trip to the ER at 3am. Needless to say a 5 year old up at 3am woth hardly ang sleep is NOT a pleasant experience but the Doctor and Nirse that I felt with this morning were the absolute best I could have asked for. so patient and so kind. They made it an quick trip which was even more helpful and they made it as enjoyable as it could have been. We definitely recommend them to anyone and i will tell everyone how awesome our visit actually was. thank you for... read more
My son came in with a bruised ankle and alot of pain. After X-rays they said nothing was broken. Two days later we go to mercy in Newton and upon further reviews of the X-rays he had 4 broken toes. Now I've experienced alot of bad things with this place. Over billing, mid diagnosis of throat cancer, horrible care from the ER doctors to the nursing staff. We have moved all of our care needs to Newton and couldn't be happier. Seriously, how do you miss broken bones when you go in complaining of pain and all the bruising.
I’m 2 weeks postpartum after having a cesarean delivery, and the staff of nurses and doctors we had were absolutely amazing. I was induced for almost 24 hours, and then had to have a c section due to complications with me and baby. (She was very stubborn and didn’t want to come out!) I couldn’t have had a better experience! Quite honestly, I wish I would have written down all the names of the nurses we had because they were such a God send. I can’t forget the nurses during delivery also! I just had to share that we had such ... read more
Only used urgent care since hospital has switched over (probably has been over 5 years at least). Care has been good there, we do appreciate the nurses and PAs. But the insurance headache that comes after isn’t worth it. Both their old and new insurance services. THREE separate times I have given them insurance information for one family member and two times for another and they still don’t have it in their system. No notes, no insurance name, NOTHING!!! 8 family members that all regularly visit doctor, prescriptions, specia... read more
My Mom was taken into the ER today by ambulance from the nursing home. Beginning with the Paramedics that transported her to the hospital, everyone was fabulous! She had two nurses in the ER looking after her, Monica and Mindy. They were absolutely fabulous! They were both so kind and gentle with Mom. It was a full house (literally) while we were there, but not one person acted rushed and acted like they were being inconvenienced by taking care of Mom. They were attentive to her needs and to the needs of us (the family membe... read more
Yes they are the doctors & nurses .
I went to the ER this morning with terrible stomach cramps and wasn’t to sleep the past night. I had an AMAZING nurse megan and a wonderful doctor (Dr. VanGundy) I have been struggling with stomach issues and have had doctors blow me off but Dr. VanGundy truly listened to my thoughts and that is something I will never forget.
Recently we had to take my son into the ER, and the difference between before Unity Point started running the hospital was night and day. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The doctor/PA was very friendly, took my son’s health seriously, and they knew that a 3 year old isn’t excited to be there, so they did their best to talk him through everything when he was awake. The level of care was no different than the level of care my family and myself have received at Unity Point in Des Moines, and that makes me very happy.
UnityPoint Health specifically their receptionists are very rude and not helpful at all. Receive a phone call from them (no voicemail) call back, the receptionist said "who knows who called you, this number is for all of the hospital" and HUNG UP on me!! I was not rude in ANY way. Unfortunately, this is NOT the first time this has happened nor won't be the last. They have never been a good hospital and unfortunately, will never be and that is very sad to say!
