United Health Group has a Shady RX Home Delivery Pharmacy called OptumRx. They basically give you a total run around. I told them not to fill a certain Medication called Eliquis, way too pricey. I pay them to cover my health and medications. Pretty simple. However somehow they believe this includes deciding what medications they think I should take. I was forced to switch medications despite my numerous attempts to explain the medication I take is the only one that has worked in over 20 years. I only chose one star, because there are no negative stars. I talk to an advocate, they confirm coverage, state when prescription will ship, with an estimated delivery date. When that date comes and goes, I follow up with a phone call. After they hang up on me at least 3 times, then the advocate determines they screwed up, then the tell me their system is being updated and then will get back with me next week. I have been with UHC for over 2 years now. My daughter had surgery over 1 year ago and today almost 15 months later, they decided to REMOVE ALL THE PAYMENTS for her surgery for NO REASON. <p>I have little to no complaint regarding United Health Care, but the mail order pharmacy Optum RX has repeatedly complicated our ordering of Diabetic test strips that our insurance claim payment is ZERO dollars. Optum RX would have charged me over $500+ on my debit card for those test strips IF they had access to my debit card! They do NOT have access to it due to having TRIPLE charged us in the past for insulin pens at over $400 a pop! I have been utilizing this company for my flex spending account for eight months. In the past my company contracted ADP and Health Hub. They were great. The turn around time on claims for dependent care was 2-4 business days. The latest claim I sent to UMR took 20 days to turn around, or 14 business days. The previous claims have also taken a really long time. The quickest turn around time was 8 business days. Organization will not allow a customer to fill a 90 day prescription 30 days at a time causing financial hardship to families. It is a ridiculous policy understanding there is no difference in filling a 90 prescription in either way.

My mother has had nothing but trouble with Optum Rx. She called to refill her medication on Saturday, thinking her medicine was on the way. Optum called her on Wednesday to say her credit card did not work. The lady from Optum ran her card one more time and magically it worked. She told my mother that they would ship it over night and she should receive her medication on Friday.
