Rented me a poorly maintained vehicle that was disgusting, like a truck stop bathroom. When I mention it, they didn't care and brushed me off. Sad but I guess that's their standard.

Day of our move we went to pick up our truck and they had no trucks in the entire city. The excuse was that they were in Canada stuck at the border and because of covid. We asked how long they knew we would not be getting a truck for and the response was that they knew for 1 week. We received zero warning. It made our moving day a complete nightmare. On Thursday, August 27th I rented a 26' truck, an appliance dolly, and an Auto Transport from U-Haul on ************* in Concord, North Carolina. After signing the forms the U-Haul technician and I went outside to view the truck. I asked her about the damage to the front of the truck and the broken driver's side mirror and she assured me that the truck had been checked and everything recorded, although there were stickers on damaged spots around the truck. We rented a U-Haul for a recent move, my husband being a professional driver reported the Hazard lights do not work so they put the deposit return on Hold- I have been going back and forth with them for 2 weeks now trying to get our deposit and no one will take responsibility and just get to the bottom of this and return the deposit. - Was told if you did not break it do not report it!

Reservation on 9/8 #******** for 15 truck and auto hauler for pick up on 10/14 one way move from CA to South Carolina. Day before pick up Uhaul called and said no trucks and no haulers available so they were cancelling my res. I called a different uhaul number and found a 15 truck just 8 miles away but this new res was now going to be $1050 more expensive than original quote (********). And no auto hauler available. My elderly father rented a Uhaul van on 10/24/2021. We took a photo of the mileage that matched the mileage on our paperwork that they themselves highlighted in yellow and gave back to my dad at the time of the rental. When we returned the van this morning (10/25/2021), a male employee who checks in the vans/trucks/trailers argued with my father that he didn't put enough gasoline in the truck. My husband spoke with a representative to reserve a 20ft truck for an out of town (one-way) move. He confirmed with the representative that a truck of this size would be available for our long distance move ONE MONTH prior to our move date. We hired movers and organized helping from our family and friends to help us with the move. U-Haul is UNTRUSTWORTHY! I made a reservation A MONTH AGO, but when I called in, I was told that they no longer have any availability! If you cannot count on U-Haul when you have a RESERVATION, how are you supposed to move your home when you can't trust a company that you have made a reservation with, for a piece of important equipment?!

U-Haul has the worse business policy and ethics I've ever heard of. I voluntarily paid on my sons' storage unit with them for 1 month, over the phone and with my bank card. They continue to charge MY credit card every time the payment is late...WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR AUTHORIZATION to do so!!! They never asked me could they save my card info or this is what will automatically happen. I only realized this when I look at my bank statement and see the payment withdraw.
