Torchy's Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food. The founder, Mike Rypka, left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy's Tacos. For me at least, the food was really peculiar and could never find anything on the menu worth sticking with. While the pricing, service, and atmosphere is excellent, I just found the food quality to be barely appetizing.

Went for the first time and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The gentleman with the Flash pendant was extremely courteous and helpful. Tacos were much bigger than I had expected and were packed with flavor. We would've wasted the afternoon on beer and chips and guac but we had our 4 year old in tow. I'm definitely going back on my next trip to Lubbock!
First time we went and tried it we loved it! The people were friendly and helpful with information. Second time we went we decided to do take out... it took 45 minutes for take out! Seriously?!?! Then the guy in Hawaiian shirt was extremely rude to us as he walked by. Once we finally did get our food it was COLD and they put queso on my boyfriend's taco even though we said NO QUESO because he gets sick when he eats cheese.
Friendly staff, plenty of seating. I mean, it's Torchy's... can't go wrong!!
Kudos to the bartender. Despite having an injured hand, she provided great service. This has become tradition for us. Run a half marathon, then go eat some damn good Torchy's Tacos.
