The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. My hubby and I love The Tavern! We always get the same thing when we go, the stuffed filet. Literally the BEST steak I have ever consumed in my entire life! If you haven't tried this amazing restaurant, I would highly recommend it! �
