The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. Our first visit to Abingdon and The Tavern. Our meal was delicious and the servers were attentive. Had the filet medallions and they almost melted in my mouth. I certainly hope to return.
My absolute most favorite restaurant! Food, atmosphere, and staff are excellent.
Love the Tavern. Max is the best , awesome food, and most of all King Richard Leigh's best friend ������
