Hold on...great scene and great food on the LES?...omg...it's true – It's usually a pretty good bet that, when you step into a restaurant that has a great bar scene and is packed with good looking hipsters, that the food will be at best fine or pretty good. But usually, the food is not the most important element in such establishments. Such is not the case though at Stanton Social. Here the food is downright really tasty. Great date spot – Went there on a wednesday before 7PM with no reservation and even though we were seated we should have made one because the place filled up right away. Great variety on the menu...we had the pizzeta with apple sausage and goat cheese. Great stuff. Red snapper tacos were good too. However the waitress seemed pretty overwhelmed and a dish we had ordered was forgotten so we cancelled it. They were very nice about it and even offered us free dessert. good enough, some great dishes, some ok dishes – been here twice, some of the dishes were amazing, others were just very good. make reservations, as you'll never get a seat upstairs in the bar area. wasn't that impressed with the desserts, but loved some of the large dishes, as well as the lobster roll. the kobe burger was good, but was expecting more out of kobe beef (is it really kobe or is it wagyu beef?). nice atmosphere, but hard to hear anything-- the acoustics in the room are terrible!
French Onion dumplings..to die for.... – Really love the shared dishes when eating with a group (though warning that a group of four is about the max number that a plate will serve). Also delish; lobster roll, crabcake corndogs, kobe slider. Skip the squid lettuce wraps, and brussel sprouts. Staff was lovely and attentive. Drag that there are only two bathrooms upstairs, but c'est la vie.
Great Brunch comes at a cost – Really the brunch is so delicious. I loved everything we had. Everything is served in small appetizer portions so you have to order several dishes to be close to satisfied. The seating is lush and comfortable. Just be prepared to spend a pretty penny for the luxurious lifestyle.
A little bit of everything – I enjoy going to Stanton Social for either brunch, dinner or late night drinks. The menu is not complicated so if you have a group of people they are bound to find something they like. Also, the upstairs lounge is very cozy on a Saturday evening for a nightcap. I have also attended parties in the mid-level section and the staff was very attentive. They also have a good variety of wines on their list.
love it! – Celebrated my birthday here shortly after they opened, and have made it a point to come back often. Great food, great ambience, great drinks. Not a bad thing about this place, except that reservations are more difficult to come by now that everyone has discovered how great it is!
Love the small dishes.. – Place is trendy, i suppose. Its right in the heart of LES, so nothing fancy. I went there right after work and was in business casual clothing and still felt a bit over dressed. Anyway, drinks were alright; nothing fancy - i'd skip it if i were to go back for dinner. Great food, great atmosphere – Went here recently, loved the small plates of food. Had the fish tacos, the duck empanadas, the pierogies (yum) and the donuts (the order is quite large for these so ordering just the donuts is enough of a desert). Fun for a date or a night out with the girls or guys. Def check it out, although its a bit hard ot find if you are not a Lower East Side person.
