Sophie was an incredible tour guide. So knowledgeable and almost theatrical. You can tell she loves her job & studies/practices often. The hotel's history & beauty were more than what I expected. Well worth the tour fee. Don't forget extra money to tip your tour guide, they are definitely worth it & deserve it!
it was great. price to stay is way too much. only the rich of the rich can spend the night.
Hotel is very awesome, but was disappointed that the night tour did not take you into the rooms. Our tour guide however was a great story teller.
I love this place! The staff is friendly and helpful. The Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Will definitely stay here again.
We were only there for one of the tours but the historic information given was interesting the hotel and the view are PHENOMENAL the food was wonderful and even though the prices were a little more the serving sizes were huge. Plan on going back and staying there for a night or two
Currently guests in the hotel (5/26/17-5/29/17) on our 2nd stay at the hotel. My wife and I stayed in Stephen King's famous room 217 on 5-26-2017. We had a very strange experience. Us, as well as several other guests woke up from the same strange noise in the middle of the night.
Loved the hotel and the staff was friendly but they nickel and dime you the entire stay. Absolutely nothing included with the $300 a night cost. Had to pay $20 per ticket for a tour and another $20 per ticket for a In house show. One tiny coffee cup in the bedroom . The meal in the bar area was very overpriced. No fridge in rooms to keep drinks in or air condition.
We took the 1-1/2 hour tour of The Stanley Hotel. Our tour guide, Scary Mary was great. Scary Mary gave a brief history of F. O. Stanley and why he built The Stanley Hotel for a woman (his wife) of course. Scary Mary shared stories about "The Shining" book/movie. However, she made it clear that The Stanley Hotel is more than a book/movie. I highly recommend the tour with Scary Mary. She was entertaining (even her bad jokes were good) and provided historical information. After the tour, we went to the bar and had a Redrum (Mu... read more
