The 10.00 charge to park needs to have a disclaimer that it only gets you in the lobby & a few displays in the basement. Oh, & you can stand in front of the hotel as well. Previously, you could walk through the hallways to see the beautiful pictures on the walls & the stunning workmanship of the building. While I understand this is a place where guests stay, the fee to park & have zero access is ridiculous! This practice just screams greed! Waste of your hard earned cash!!!
Beautiful place. Been a dream come true to see it in person. Next time we' ll do the tour and stay overnight!

My husband, dog, and I came to the Stanley, as it's always been a lifelong dream of mine. I have visited The Overlook Hotel at Mt Hood in Oregon, so naturally, this was next on the list, as a fan of the movie The Shining. I was not disappointed!! The Stanley is absolutely beautiful with stunning views! I never wanted to leave! Growing up I always wanted to visit The Stanley Hotel! It finally happened yesterday! I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. Her name was DD and she made the experience even better! When our group stood around 217 listening to the stories, I felt strong energy. The room was quite comfortable, but all of a sudden I had goosebumps and it was pretty chilly! As a fan of "The Shinning", I had to experience the Stanley Hotel so my friend and I took the hotel tour and had a blast! Scary Mary was awesome...so informative and just a joy. So glad we made the drive from Boulder to Estes Park for this.
Always wanted to come here and wasn't let down at all, tour was awesome.
Always enjoying visiting the Stanley Hotel each time we come to Estes Park. This last visit we stayed on the hollowed grounds (room 428) celebrating our 25 anniversary. The room is great and our meals at the Cascade Restaurant were great.
