I think you need to apologize to the veteran and send your managers back to school to learn tactfulness.

That manager of yours is an idiot. That man fought for your rights and this is how you repay him? I hope you feel so good about yourself at night. This is one of the worst things I have ever heard. Even where I work there is a discount for veterans. Change your policies tight wads!

Really? What qualifies one to receive a "Veteran" discount? Better yet, what qualifies one to become a manager if corporate can't trust them to make that decision alone? Poor customer service will hurt you...but messing with veterans will always bite you in the ass!
