I don't see anyone defending themselves, so I will take this as being real. Yep, shame on the manager for not giving him discount. If corporate is leaving policy to individual stores, the reason he didn't want to give the discount, is because every penny that store makes, makes him look good to corporate & he gets bonuses for doing well. Shame-shame.

Our vets deserve better! They fought for our freedoms with their lives, and you can't give them a few dollars off for that? Ooh, and who decides who qualifies, if one serves and shows their ID, then this should be an automatic qualification. I am very disappointed in Home Depot. The manager that denied the vet should be fired or at the very least reprimanded.
I think you need a new store manger. Maybe a grown up who has served his country. I don't live there, but my family does. They won't be darkening your doorstep again out of respect for my sons who do serve in the marine Corp and probably wouldn't "qualify" for the veteran discount.
