From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. Great food and service. Cinnamon rolls are huge and you can split between people. Gravy is the best I've ever had.

I had scrambled eggs my daughter had breakfast tacos the eggs were overcooked very rubbery

I can't begin to put it into words how great of an experience we had! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food is so wonderful! We ordered a few items so that we could sample. If you are a coffee drinker, buy their house coffee. Yum! I also had their delicious fancy hot chocolate. Can't say enough. A must go in San Antonio.

Hi Lori, Thanks for the thumbs up review! Those Sweet Cream Waffles are something we are very proud of. Come on back and have our Biscuits and Gravy next time. Our Guenther House is also famous for those. Spoiler alert, our gravy has crumbled suasuage in it ;)
I liked the waffles. Otherwise the food was just okay. The patio was nice and the blankets were a nice touch. But the waiter was curt and not friendly at all. So kinda countered the nice setting.
