From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

It was a great atmosphere & the food was tasty but I don’t think it’s worth a 1hr 45min wait!
This place just puts a smile in your heart and it doesn't hurt hat the food is delicious!
The food and service were fantastic, the ambience beautiful. For early May the temperature was very comfortable. Don't remember exact name of my order can but Champagne enchiladas close and SO delicious! If I lived nearby I would be there daily.
You must try the waffles!!! Everything else is good and worth a try but nothing is better than the waffles!!!!
It would have been 5 stars if it weren’t for the angry man controlling the seating and the other angry man seating us. I suspect they, or one of them will will read this. Running a business is hard work, however, you need to check your drama in the parking lot and not impose at the sole source of your income; the diners
The best pancakes ever!!! Coffee was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Outdoor seating is a must on the weekend.
Loved this place. The service was great as well as the food. When in San Antonio will definitely be back.
Great food & the bakery good are delicious! We enjoyed the shop & touring the house .
My husband had the strawberry waffles and said best waffle he ever had. I had the 1851 and it was great as well. Brought home the huge cinnamon roll that was delish. Shopped in the gift shop and brought home goodies as well.
