The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

This place was nothing short of AMAZING! The atmosphere was very peaceful. Even though we were quoted a 45 minute wait it was well worth it. While waiting there is a small Museum with history on the house and the Guenther family, as well as a small gift shop to browse. Normally I would say breakfast is breakfast but here is was absolutely delicious. The strawberry waffles were crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth! When visiting San Antonio this place will always be top on my list to revisit!

The environment was amazing and beautiful! Our waiter Eric was so sweet and great recommendations on the food! I got the chicken and waffles and it was DELICIOUS! Very recommended to go check out! Even the bathrooms were great! 😉

We love to eat brunch here! Anytime we can, we try to visit. It is also our favorite place to bring guests from out-of-town as they get amazing food and we can walk some of it off with a peaceful walk on the San Antonio Riverwalk.

A must visit if you travel to San Antonio. The people are so kind, the food is fantastic and I cannot say enough about Gabi, our server. If you drink coffee, DO try their special blend plus, you can purchase more in their store. I bought additional items to cook up that they provide recipes for so be sure you get enough while there.
