Founded in 1961, the Bitter End is New York's oldest rock club. There is no food served here, so you do not have to worry about the sounds of tinkling glasses and quaking crockery distracting the likes of Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond and Bob Dylan. Over the years, a number of big name comedians have performed here as well, including Woody Allen, George Carlin and Joan Rivers. A brick wall forms the backdrop for all these acts, including many you may not have heard about.
between Thompson and LaGuardia, 147 Bleecker St, New York, NY, 10012, United States

When there yesterday it was a wonderful experience... love it
watched the Fopps perform two sets. the venue is great , lots of history there ! definately will be back !
Loved this place! I was the marimba player/percussionist with the very blonde hair at the 'Indie Collaborative' event last Aug 28. The sound guys were great and extremely competent. The owner is hilarious with his blunt humor. He said "Are you sure you're not from LA, with that hair you look like you just walked out of fuckin Vidal Sassoon" :). He was hilarious! It was a Great experience and the waitresses/bartenders were extremely great looking and nice. Wish I could have gotten their phone numbers 867-5309!!! lol :)
What a legendary place - I still can't believe I got to perform at the same venue Jimi Hendrix played some forty something years ago! Everyone here is friendly- the vibe is super chill - I wish they had a bar menu (couldn't harm to munch on some wings while sipping on your coronas) - this is definitely one of my favorite places in the city - it's iconic venues like these that make up New York City - So skip that birthday party at 230 Fifth and come on down to experience some good vibes at The Bitter End!
Great music, fun atmosphere with an awesome friendly staff and good crowd, can't wait to go back!
Great singer songwriter performances. Very nice staff. Only $5 cover.
A wonderful place for friends of music to meet and enjoy live entertainment; along with the venue's historically significant ambiance. In house personnel were great.
Just performed with The Alex Otey Trio with Cecil Parker at The Indie Collaborative!!! A great night of music with some of the greats in the music business!!! THANK YOU - THE BITTER END Double D - drums/percussion/vocals
Great music and an awesome vibe! They had some young bands that rocked and you can feel the history of the place.
