Skilled and charming – Takamichi Hair, located in a gorgeous new space on Great Jones Street, has everything I've been searching for in a hair salon. Melissa cut my hair and did an incredible job, she listened carefully to what I wanted and translated it into something that would work with my hair, I'm super happy with it and enjoying a lot of compliments. On top of the great service I enjoyed the beautiful environment, and easy going attitude.
best hair cut in a great space – I tried Takamichi Hair for the first time last week, and I love it! Melissa is the best, she gave me a really great hair cut and color. Great space too, very relaxing, beautiful design. I'm looking forward to going back!
talented stylists, great atmosphere – I get my hair cut and colored by Tara and she's amazing, absolutely the best I've ever been to. The first time Tara cut my hair was the first time I ever loved the cut as well as the way it was styled at the end. She guides me toward figuring out exactly what I want and her suggestions are always perfect. I love the location too - off the busy street, full of light, quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended.
Finally – Melissa cut my hair last week and I am still getting compliments, one of the best haircuts I have ever had. The space looks great without feeling like a lot of the Euro trash places I have tried out throughout the years.
Awesome Space!!! – I stumbled upon Takamichi Hair after reading the write up in Time Out magazine. I made an appointment with Tara for highlights and a cut. It took a lingering two and a half hours and after she put some gooey hair product in my hair I was thrilled! The enviroment of the salon was open and airy and I could have spent all day there. The staff is not only professional but nice as well.
Great! - Been going there for 4 years. – I've been a Takamichi regular for the last 4 years and it's fantastic. My (now) wife goes there too and she's a huge fan. All the sylisits are fantastic, professional, not pretentions and are all artists. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Not inexpensive, but worth it.
Hooray for Scalp Massages! – My favorite hairstylist moved back to Japan so I had to find a new one. Though this was a little bit pricier than I was used to, I decided to make an appointment with Takamichi after reading the other reviews. The salon is small but has a very boutique-like feel to it. Takamichi told me they'll be re-locating not too far at the end of the year, so hopefully that place will be just as nice. His cut was terrific! angelfire – I really can't express how pleased I am with my hair. Everyone keeps asking me where I've gotton it cut. I've was never able to walk out of a salon feeling entirely happy with what was done with my hair until now. I absolutely love my hair ;) The hair wash/massage was delicious! The staff are wonderful and the earlier reviews couldn't be more then correct about the atmosphere. Happy Customer – Takamichi took over an hour to consult and cut my hair. We had a great time talking. Nothing pretentious, no superficial/boring questions or ackward friendliness. Did I mention about the unique atmosphere of the salon? It's small, but very cozy artsy homy yet cluster-free hassle-free kind of space. Great music, massage & shampoo! I'm gonna let my hair grow out a little bit to decide if this is my best haircut, but I definitely LIKE it and am very happy with it :) !
