Not only a great doctor from a pure medical point of view but also the best when it comes to understanding the patient’s perspective. Just the best.
His staff was very caring and responsive to my father‘s needs. Dr. Ackerman was personable and made sure we understood everything that was happening. It is never fun to go through these types of procedures, but Dr. Ackerman and his staff made it much easier to get through. The day of his procedure went flawlessly. Thank you!
From the office staff to Dr. Akerman, everyone was patient, diligent, and there to answer your questions. I so appreciate being able to get ahold of the staff with questions. Dr. Akerman spoke to me before and after the surgery and even called later to check on me at home. I could not speak more highly of my experience.
Fabulous doctor and pleasant visit experience. From scheduling, completing paperwork, checking in, consultation and check out, the experience was simple and convenient. I got an appointment quickly and when it came time for my appointment, was seen on time. Dr. Akerman is very professional and thorough but also friendly, laid back and easy to talk to. He and his office staff are very responsive to questions and requests. I highly recommend this office and specifically Dr Akerman!

I am a healthy and active 70 yr old male referred to Dr. Akerman by my gastroenterologist to clarify a couple of G.I. issues. The decision was to perform an endoscopic ultrasound. Anesthetized and scoped. All of the support staff we encountered were excellent. Certainly helps a patient to stay calm and relaxed. Dr. Berk provided the anesthesia and was similarly excellent. I have seen Dr Akerman for an office visit/consultation, Endoscopic Ultrasound and a colonoscopy. He explains things well, doesn't rush the patient and is empathetic, kind and very knowledgeable. His staff is also very professional. personally of all the doctors I have been to in my life he is exceptional as is his staff. I highly recommend and wish all doctors had the knowledge, experience and kind demeanor with patients.

My husband saw Dr. Akerman last year, and I had a patient of mine also rave about him. When I turned 45 my PCP insisted I do a colonoscopy. While she gave me other names, I chose Dr. Akerman because I was so impressed with his bedside manner when my husband had an EGD and Colonoscopy.
