Enjoy a little piece of Pan-Fried history when you dine at Stroud's! The year was 1933. Prohibition had just been repealed, we were between two World Wars and Stroud's Restaurant was built. Stroud's started as a BBQ restaurant by Guy and Helen Stroud on the county line at 85th and Troost. The road house remained a BBQ restaurant until World War II. Always went to the one on 85th for many years, so when it closed I was so unhappy. Fairway location is easy to get to and kept very clean. Chicken is amazing every single time along with all the sides. The wait is so worth the wait. All the staff is wonderful. If you're in the KC area this is a MUST try!
It sucked and now the building is sold and closing in a few months.

ALWAYS check your RECEIPT! I left a tip at the carryout counter and the person helping me decided to double his tip amount on my credit card! I've called my bank to dispute the charge. I also called Strouds.

My boyfriend and I went to Stroud's in Fairway about 3 months ago, and I have to say we were both very disappointed. The chicken pieces were very small. Very overpriced for what you got. The cinnamon rolls were good. Won't go back.
Waitress clearly not happy to be there. Cinnamon rolls arrived when we were nearly done eating, as did an extra piece I ordered. Will not go back.
Tasteless, underwhelming, and the ambience has little to offer for the price. First time and last time there.
Just had dinner there and It was fabulous. Great service!
Tonight was the first time my family and I had eaten there. The service was excellent! Our server Brianna ( I think or Brittany) went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. She was very attentive as well as others that stopped to ask were we ok. It was a wait for the dinner but it was so worth it. We look forward to returning soon!
Went here tonight and it was delicious! The chicken is so good, and those cinnamon rolls.... just waaaay too good! Might have to wait a few minutes to be seated, but worth it.
