I wish I could split my review. The stunning artwork of the house would get a 5 and the acting, scares and creep factor would get a 2. I love how much work was put into the house. See here's the thing. When my group got lined up, we got very lucky because somehow out of a large group of 50 people split into lines of ten, our tiny little group of three got in with no one else. I do not feel that HellsGate was worth the money. The actors/actresses were not very good, the lines were long for a disappointment. You have to be 10 or older? I took my 11yr old, and she wasn't scared a bit. It was ridiculous. I drove over an hour for nothing.
Was such a great time alot of detail into the house was sooo amazing in the bus ride was great id recommend for evryone to check it out
The house was cool.just not enough time to look and not enough actors.they need more security people were lines and asking them to do something about it.wow now theres the horror reality.hate to give a bad review but I hope it gets better for everyone else.
What a mess! So much potential with location and the history but they dropped the ball! I expected to wait in line but this was horrible and so unorganized! Then after 4+hours in lines the haunted house was nice to see all the decor but the interaction with most actors was minimal and they seemed to move is through as quickly as they could! Need to figure it out fast or next year this will flop!
We made a 105 mile drive from Rockford where we have tons of haunted houses in our area but we were under the impression this was a haunted house on a much bigger scale! We bought speed passes and spent extra money to stand in the same line and wait just as long (if not longer) than those who paid general admission. It was a let down from the start.. Judging from the other reviews many people have the same feelings I do. The long lines are crazy, and it was a disorganized mess. I had high hopes but was extremely let down.
Totally sucked, its a waste of money and time, the ononly reason I gave it one star was so I could post, pay for speed pass and wait in lines for 5 hours total bs for a 15 minute tour...
The idiots on here giving this place 5 stars are probably afraid of their own shadows. Started at the train station at 7:15 didn't get back till 11:30. Speed pass was a joke. 75% of the actors looked like children I'm talking 14 and under. What the hells up with that how could that be legal. GIVE ME $20 I'll kick you between the legs and I guarantee you will have a better experience than Hells Gate����������������������������������������������
