We came from Wisconsin for my husband's 50th birthday to the Derby 🐎 and stayed near Indianapolis had the best shrimp 🍤 cocktail and delicious steaks.
Ate in the lounge. Limited menu. Got the strip steak. Cold and lacked flavor. Mushrooms and potatoes were good. The people next to me asked how it was and I told them. As I cashed out they told the bartender, who did want to rectify the situation, but I was leaving and I did eat the steak, so told her it wasn't necessary.
St. Elmo is known for the shrimp cocktail and steak...However, the chicken was AMAZING !!

There is a reason why this is a nationally ranked Steak House. The only bad thing was the meal had to end!!! A must go!!!
It was one of the best dinners I have had. The waiter was great and attentive to our large group of people. I would highly recommend to anyone in Indianapolis.
Had wonderful service. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the history of St.Elmos and all menu items. Both the shrimp and meatball slider were excellent, the Gouda mac and cheese was creamy and rich. Great ambiance!
Amazing bar staff, amazing food!! Can't wait to come back!
