My wife and I came here on a last minute decision to come to Indianapolis. Heard great things about St. Elmo's and it did not disappoint. Fantastic service out of this world shrimp cocktails and delicious steaks. We sat at the bar because we did not have reservations and it had great service. Would recommend to anyone you comes to Indy.

Not overly impressed with our last and likely final visit. Our waiter seemed so standoffish and almost annoyed with us - especially with the fact I was drinking water (sorry I'm pregnant and not enjoying a $15 glass of wine) when my fiancé ordered for us, he seemed less than thrilled we weren't ordering $60 steaks and every side. When my fiancé's steak came out, it was about half fat and barely even seared. Sent back a new steak cake about as rare a the last... Sure the shrimp cocktail is amazing, but spend the $9 at Kroger ... read more

THE ULTIMATE INDY EXPERIENCE. My personal fave is the Famous Shrimp Cocktail followed by the classic Bean Soup "Steve Huse Style", then of course the incredible aged steak of choice with sautéed mushrooms. A fine wine and great company. Heaven!

Just tried the cocktail sauce, purchased at Kroger, $7.99 and is not good at all!!! What a waste of money!

I thought the shrimp cocktail was going to give me a nosebleed but this was the first time I ate 100% of a steak in my life. Above exceptional service & food. Never have I had such detailed and attentive waitering.

My wife and I ate here for our 18th anniversary. We usually come to Indy from out of town to celebrate the weekend and each time we visit, we choose a different "fancy" restaurant to eat at. St. Elmo's did not disappoint us in any way. Ambiance was great, food was great, and the service was even better (Nick was our waiter). We've ate at Ruth's Chris, Shula's, Mo's, and Morton's which were all excellent, but in our opinion St. Elmo's was the best. We found out exactly why they've been here for over a 100 years!

Had the special 60 day dry aged NY prime strip. Was phenomenal so much of a difference from the original strip. Also lobster bisque was delicious. Can't say enough about that cocktail sauce!

The most expensive meal in my 60 year life. Great steak but bill was $195. for two, before tip. One glass of wine $15, my wife had lobster, two medium tails for $80.(I did not ask the price prior to ordering) I had a $40 steak. Shrimp cocktail, four shrimp for $18. No sense in being so very, very expensive. This was my fault for trusting fairness. Proceed with caution!
