Buying oil from Slomins was the biggest mistake of my life. Please buyers stay as far away from this place as possible if you want to avoid bankruptcy and losing your house. It was 2015 when I saw a truck with Slomin oil advertised. I was with my kids at the time so I ask for information. They wanted me to fill out some questionaire which I did fairly quickly and they took an appointment with me. The deal was simple use them exclusively and get one low price for oil. I've had Slomins Alarm system for 20 years, that's since I bought this house in 1998. Alarm is good, very professional. Almost 3 years ago, I added 5 cameras as part of my system. I think that I made a big mistake. They installed them where I wanted, I brought up the application on my phone, and all was well. Since then, I've had to call them for service more than half a dozen times, and they certainly do not "get right on it". DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I have been a SLOMIN'S customer for 19 yrs. my home was recently vandalized. I called to get a price to have cameras installed they quoted me a price of $400.00 for each camera which is very over priced. The priced droped down to $300.00 for each camera. To get out of my 5yr contract which I was told was 2yrs will cost me 1,700.00. One would think that since i have been a Customer since 1999 I would have gotten a better offer . I would NOT recommend Slomins for your home heating oil needs or for any other service they provide for that matter. They are a sleazy, slimy company. Here's why: I've been using them for about 2.5 years, for the first 2 years each under a 1-year contract and for the remaining time under a 6-month contract. We did a shorter 6-month contract because my wife and I knew we were selling our house to my mother, and we also knew she was going to convert to natural gas. I feel this company is very under handed with regards to their contracts. I had a contract with this company and it was up in Sept. I called in June to receive a tune up on my boiler and conveniently I couldn't get an appointment until October. I advised the customer service rep about my contract and she didn't try to be accommodating. They want to keep the extra money that they charge for service or force you to renew your contract. I recently bought a house from my son and scheduled **** to install a gas line before end of summer. Two days ago Slomin's put 96 gallons of oil in my oil tank and I don't even have an account with them. My son did but informed them that he did not want to renew his contract after seeing that his next delivery was in August. On June 5th his contract ended but Slomin's came and put 96 gallons in the tank of the house I now own. I called to tell them that they had to remove it since I'm getting gas service. In my experience, Slomin's is a company that preys on senior citizens. My parents had their alarm system and upgraded to a new panel and remote. Slomin's had them sign a FIVE year contract. Steven, manager of the cancellation dept, said if my parents are of sound mind they should know what they are signing. My parents are 75 years old. Many seniors are able to live alone and take care of themselves, but are often preyed upon by companies like Slomin's. I feel this company is very under handed with regards to their contracts. I had a contract with this company and it was up in March. They just filled my tank in May for 1 dollar and 20 cents more per gallon. When I called to complain they told me I should of read my contract better, it automatically renews. we have had slomins for oil and alarm for 5 years. I finally cancelled the alarm since we were out of contract and wanted to do the same with oil. well we call and they said we never used our yearly cleaning. we never knew we needed one, someone should have called. So made an appt for april 16th someone showed up the Friday before when I was away on vacation.
