Renovated in June 2007, Silk City is actually two places joined together. The diner was originally built by the Silk City company in the 1930s. If you are familiar with the old Silk City menu, expect changes. I had the shrimp burger last night! I don't know what was keeping it all together but it was dynamite! The fries were small but fried perfectly. Nice prices on drinks and food! I had a Tecaté so that was a nice cheap option but they have other decently priced beer. Check out the outdoor seating if you can!
Love Silk City, cool and comfortable, something great for everybody, even the vegans in my family. I always have to get the fried chicken, with collard greens (with ham hocks) mashed potatoes and side of mac and cheese!!!! The bartender/waitress in the garden was awesome, took our very picky order for 5 without writing it down and did not miss a beat!!! sorry I forgot her name but it was outside Monday 8/21/17
Was my first time for dinner. Had been there for brunch a few times. Had the shrimp and grits. Everything was perfectly prepared and the presentation was magnificent. Always good. Friendly service. Great prices. Can't wait to go back!
