As an ode to his Israeli roots, Chef Alon Shaya created Shaya as an innovative restaurant with elements borrowed from his Middle-Eastern ancestry. Shaya's menu is a reverential treasure which was crafted with recipes from his grandmother. The chef attempts to blend the indigenous flavors of Israel with a New Orleans twist, and the menu features dishes such as the Louisiana Shrimp Shakshouka and the more traditional matzo ball soup, among others. In the spirit of his warm Israeli hospitality, some dishes are designed to be sh... read more

So good, so creamy.... so perfect I have been here easily 30 times. The Lamb hummus, the cauliflower hummus and the goat cheese stuffed peppers; all have such complex flavor profiles. Now for the service. Pleasant, welcoming and effortless are the hallmarks of all five star establishments. My guest and I arrived to, two of the brightest smiles, we were seated immediately, and the A+ service continued with out any distractions. Valerie (our server) attention to detail was impeccable and courteous. grazie mille
Best food ever ! Thats the only description for this restaurant.
the food was amazing the wine selection was very good. The server behind the bar was a little questionable not as attentive as you would think for this type of restaurant. Overall experience was excellent would just work on customer service.
Eight of us were seated without a reservation within 15 minutes. It was a busy afternoon for the restaurant. Most restaurants are closed on Labor Day but Shaya's doors were open and their service was impeccable. The food was delicious. Don't miss the cauliflower hummus and bread! ❤️
This was the best meal I've had in my life. We followed our friend's advice and ordered several small plates instead of entrees. This is the way to go. Everything was truly remarkable. I could have eaten my weight in the pita bread but again heeded my friend's advice to pace myself and not fill up on the pita. I can't stop thinking about the cauliflower hummus. Or the pita. Or our waiters very interesting facial hair. For me, a true sign of fantastic food is when I forget about whatever alcoholic beverage I'm drinking becaus... read more
We had a wonderful experience. Definitely will be back!
We were so happy that we snagged a last minute reservation because I'd heard it was hard to do! The Chef is Alon Shaya, from Israel and I couldn't wait to try some new and exciting flavors. So the star of the meal, if you believe it, is the pita bread. It just pulls everything together and is seriously the best you will ever have! The pockets come come puffed up like a party balloon, fresh and hot from the wood fired oven. To eat it you grab hold of the sides, pull it open and the steam bursts out! It's soft and pillowy, wit... read more
Stayed for a week in NoLa with so many food options. We started off at Shaya and the bar was set pretty high. It was only fitting that we had our last NoLa meal there too.
The hummus was amazing. Maybe it tasted so good because it was my anniversary. JK the food was delicious very flavorful. I'd go again. That speaks for itself.
