About this business

Shaya's menu is a reverential treasure which was crafted with recipes from his grandmother. The chef attempts to blend the indigenous flavors of Israel with a New Orleans twist, and the menu features dishes such as the Louisiana Shrimp Shakshouka and the more traditional matzo ball soup, among others. In the spirit of his warm Israeli hospitality, some dishes are designed to be sh... read more

This was our last meal in NOLA before heading home and I wish it was the first because we would’ve went back, again and again, for this delicious food!!! I’ve never felt this way about lamb before. Well Done Shaya!!

Shaya did not disappoint! The food was amazing and was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back! The mushroom hummus and the roasted cabbage are to die for! The pita bread is delicious! The desserts are amazing! The atmosphere was awesome! I’ll be back again and again!

This is that kind of place where everything is exceptionally delicious, even if you consider yourself a picky eater.

My experience was that of my expectation. The food was fresh and delicious. This was one of my best dining experiences in several years. Food that reminds you that you have an appetite for life is what dreams are made of. I left grateful and settled.

Fabulous as always. Food is fresh and delicious. Hummus smoother and creamier than I have ever had elsewhere. The flavors dance on your tongue. Service is always professional despite the fact that these servers have to hustle to keep up with the abundant business. Shaya continues to be a treat!
