As an ode to his Israeli roots, Chef Alon Shaya created Shaya as an innovative restaurant with elements borrowed from his Middle-Eastern ancestry. Shaya's menu is a reverential treasure which was crafted with recipes from his grandmother. This is the one of the best restaurants in New Orleans...love the pita “pillows” bread...asparagus hummus! Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

This is one of the few places that I desire to often return. There are so many great restaurants in New Orleans, but I often think will I return to the other establishments, eh maybe? Shaya is such an exemplary dining experience, that I could return again and again. The taste of the food is impeccable. I’ve been trying to eat here for two years. Finally got a reservation. Started out shaky but man did they recover!! GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!! Nothing else to say but GREAT!!

We sat outdoors, it was a beautiful day, but we could smell a back wash odor coming from the drain (located in the middle of the patio) when the wind blew the right way.......it also took quite a while for our take home to come out, and the water seemed pretty agrivated when I asked him for it after waiting 15 minuets for it.......otherwise the food was really good.

Yes yes yes! Go here to eat any time it is open. Apps are delicious. Pitas are pillows of scrumptiousness. Small plates are wonderful.
