Dr. Bess is a very good listener. But the best part about him is that he hears me as well. My surgery wasnt the success I wished it had been. But Dr. Bess and his staff have been here and continues to be here. So grateful and thankful for our friendship.
Dr. Bess is exceptional in his concern and care of his patients and is a meticulous expert when he performs surgery. We are so thankful for his dedication and topnotch quality of care. He couldn't be better!

Dr. Bess recently performed major corrective realignment surgery of my spine, after three failed surgeries performed by other surgeons 10 -13 years ago. Dr. Bess' skill is exceptional, as is his (& his entire staff & team's) professionalism, expertise, & personal care. The nurses, staff and doctors care at Spalding Rehab (also part of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center) was also excellent.
I am grateful that my doctor referred me to Dr. Bess to perform my cervical spinal fusion for a severely herniated disc. Dr. Bess is respectful, thorough, and very empathetic to the pain I was experiencing. He actually worked until 11:00pm one night so he could get me into surgery early because I was experiencing such horrible pain. I will always be grateful for the high level of compassion and professionalism that Dr. Bess has shown me. I highly recommend him if you are in need of a spinal surgeon.

Dr. Bess is a very good spinal surgeon. He took the time to explain what I needed to know to prepare for my surgery. He answered all of my concerns. I had been in pain for over ten years and the medication I was taking caused other physical problem, silent strokes and heart problems. I also had nerve damage to my left thigh which can not be repaired but if I didn’t do something I would eventually be dragging my left leg and that could not be repaired once it happened. Dr. Bess explained everything in terms I could understand. He has a relaxed sense about him that made me feel at ease and not have any worries. I have not had the surgery yet but I have no doubt I will be in great hands!
