From the moment I entered his office Dr. Bess and staff were accommodating and professional. Dr. Bess spent a considerable amount of time with me when assessing and explaining what is going on with my spine. I will confidentially recommend Dr. Shay Bess to anyone in need of an extremely reputable spine surgeon.
Outstanding Provider. His exam was thorough and informative, he ordered my MRI, his staff called the imaging center to let them know I was coming, I got my scans, they sent them to Dr. Bess and he called me about an hour later to explain what he found in my imaging. Almost as fast as the 1 hour photo service at Costco! Impressive physician who's smart and knows how to streamline the patient care experience.
Dr. Bess is an outstanding surgeon. He's not aggressive at all and shared all of my options starting off with pain injections. I called his office for a followup appointment and learned that he is no longer at PSL and they tried to change my provider to someone else. I am NOT going to another provider. He has new contact info on his website www.shaybess.com. I am going to see where he establishes a new practice and follow him there.
Dr. Bess is likely the most ethical, honest, and talented complex spine surgeon in the state of Colorado. He did surgery on my 71 year old mother to correct her debilitating scoliosis earlier this fall. My mother who was stuck in a wheel chair before her surgery for 3 years is now (after surgery) walking 2 miles a day!!! My mother and our family are forever grateful to Dr. Shay Bess. We highly recommend him as he’s honest and compassionate.

Dr. Bess did a acdf 4 levels in my neck. Surgery went great had a setback in recovery which has all but healed. Dr. Bess checked on me personally 5 tines a week. The P.A.s checked on me as well. A truly compassionate surgeon that listens and answered everything I asked of him. His office staff are overall excellent. I'd recommend a different way of handling calls but I also have no idea how many incoming calls they get. I'd go there again without hesitation.
I am so grateful for Dr. Bess. 5 months ago, he performed a spinal fusion and replaced the associated discs (L4,L5,S1). I had been in excruciating, debilitating pain for years. I could not stand for longer than a couple minutes. I couldn't sit on the floor to play with my kids. I couldn't sleep well.
