I've been to Shampoo Ave B once for a haircut with Jennifer. My friend from home recommended this place and I have had some bad previous experiences with haircuts, however, Jennifer did exactly what I wanted and did a great job! I plan on going back to her to get an ombre. Highly recommended!
I have been going to Shampoo Avenue B (SAB) for several years now. Prior to SAB, I bounced around trying to find someone who could cut my very straight and thick hair to my standards. Needless to say, I was unsuccessful until my first visit to SAB. From a stylist standpoint, I have only gone to Aut, who I would recommend to anyone. I was really happy to find Shampoo because they do fantastic, creative work without making you spend hundreds of dollars. I get my thin, lank, difficult-to-work-with hair cut by Jennifer and she's excellent at giving me the short, punky style I want, which can be easily toned down for the office and grows out well without becoming a mullet (the bane of my hair's existence). Shampoo Avenue B is pretty great. Everybody there is very friendly and professional. I love a great quality haircut, but being a student sometimes NYC prices are quite high. Shampoo Avenue B however has student discounts which is awesome. Been there 2 times already, but see myself becoming a regular already.
I bought a lifebooker deal for a cut and blowout. That was the best purchase I ever made in my life because Sylyse did my hair and it was the best cut and blowout I ever had. He is an amazing person as well. He listened to what I wanted and did his very best to deliver. My blowout lasted almost a week and a half too. Awesome place, awesome service and I will definitely be back.
This is a comfortable and attractive salon that is distinguished by its remarkably talented team. Erik gave me what I believe to be the best haircut I've ever had, changed the side of my part to where it should always have been, and did beautiful, subtle highlights. I saw some other really fine haircuts going on around me as well -- quite impressive. How lucky I am that it's not far from where I live, it's also convenient. Fabulous salon.
Shampoo Avenue B has a comfortable environment and a friendly staff! I have experienced two wonderful visits with two great haircuts by Jen. My hair is thick, and I decided to take off some of the length at my second visit. She did an amazing job that looked natural and was easy to style. I am looking forward to my next appointment in the future!
Shampoo Ave. B is awesome. Every person at the salon is courteous and professional. From the moment you walk in you feel well cared for, and their small touches impress at every turn (e.g. the receptionist will walk across the street to get you a coffee while you're in the chair, they have dedicated staff to shampoo your hair who also give you a scalp and face massage). I've been trying salons all over NYC for years, and finally found one I want to call home at Shampoo Avenue B. They always do a great job with my color, and are up for any color from blond to pink. And the refreshments are great too. There's nothing like relaxing with a Stella while I'm having my hair foiled.
