I was very satisfied with Dr. Appell and my surgery. He did an excellent job of explaining the procedure and the expected outcome was exactly as he explained it.
Dr. Appell and I hit it off right off the bat. He has a calm, professional demeanor and readily answers any questions.
Everybody wants to know who my doctor is,as my knee looks perfect less than 3 weeks after surgery.already bending 110 in PT.
Dr. Appell is approachable with any question I ask. He did not appear rushed during the pre op visit . He is serious and concerned yet has a sense of humor as well. The joint floor at GrandView is geared towards wellness not illness. ( this is amazing). Difficult decision to have an elective joint replacement yet by the time I was at the surgery date , I feel most of my concerns had been handled. One staff member seems overworked and tired and not as approachable yet quite knowledgeable .
From our first meeting Dr. Appell has been so nice caring and encouraging. I was really scared of what was about to happen and recovery. He explained everything so clear. Before and after surgery he was there encouraging me. If I have to any other procedure done. Dr. Appell is my doctor.
I have been seeing Dr. Appell for numerous years and I totally trust his opinion and advice. I moved away from the area about 14 years ago and I continue to see Dr. Appell whenever I need a service that he specializes in concerning my health. My family drive over a hundred miles one way just to get medical care from Dr. Appell. This should speak to how I feel about Dr. Appell. He is truly blessed when it comes to his field of specialties.
Dr.Appell is great! He listened to me regarding my symptoms, reviewed my prior history, requested the appropriate tests, and gave me the truth regarding my options. I would refer anyone with orthopedic problems to him. He is very thorough, kind, and tells it just like it is. Now I am recovering from shoulder surgery that was long overdue??
I don't think you could find a better doctor. He is informative and take as much time as you need to explain your problem and how to solve it. He talks to you in terms you can understand and will never talk down to you. It is like visiting a friend instead of a doctors office. Very professional. Dr. Appell has done both of my knees and both shoulders. To say I am satisfied is an understatement. He is the reason I can walk and throw without pain.
