Pulled pork and turnips were delicious. Loved the Saws sauce so much we bought 4 bottles to take home. The smoked wings were amazing.
Fantastic food. Faves were deviled eggs, sweet potato fries, chicken tenders & pulled pork. The fries were also terrific!
SMALL spot, but they do offer seating outside. The food is fantastic! I have four words that will bless you: Sweet Tea Fried Chicken sammich!
Generous serving of chicken and greens topped off with delicious onion rings... We split one order and still couldn't eat it all! Excellent sweet tea and the best ever white sauce for the chicken. The fried green tomatoes were also good! The vibes were good; everyone was very friendly. We beat the crowd and got an inside table! We will be back!
The food is fantastic, all of it. I dig the music and the overall vibe. It's the only place in the city where people of all races and backgrounds come together to eat because they all have one thing in common: the love of authentic southern soul food.
Great restaurant. No miss menu. Pro tip: get the Colonel or the smoked wings.
The food is good, everything else is not good. I doubt I go back, crowded, loud and rude staff.
The reviews are an understatement. If you are in Birmingham, AL and you don't stop by Saw's in Avondale at least once you missed out on some of the best food in the South. The fried green tomatoes are a must try and the smoked wings...delicious. There isn't anything on the menu that I don't recommend, I make it a habit to get something different every time and they've yet to disappoint.
The colonel was amazing, as was the pork and greens. Go eat here!!!
