When most guys retire, they decide to take it easy, maybe play a little golf or something. Not Russ Salvatore—he built a contemporary restaurant and luxury hotel to run in his retirement. Salvatore, who has been in the restaurant business over 40 years, founded Salvatore's Italian Gardens and Salvatore's Grand Hotel, which he operated until his retirement. My husband and I went to Russell's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first visit. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Staff was extremely polite. Our server, Jeremy, was fantastic. Would have given it 5 stars, but the owner, Russell Salvatore, stood at the reservation/greeting desk, but refused to greet us. When you are a well-established, seasoned restaurateur, it is expected that you greet all of your patrons and make them feel welcomed.

We had our parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration this March at Russell's. It was outstanding. The room was beautiful, with thoughtful personal touches. The service was both professional and warm. Mark Jerge, one of the owners, was beyond thoughtful, responsive, had exceptional customer service, and treated us as though we were part of the family. As soon as you walk in the door you're in a whole different realm. Everything is fabulous and the food and service is,,,, well it's a wonderful experience. My wife and really enjoy it whether we are dining with friends or by ourselves.

Beware if you are planning a dinner event outside of the dining room. We were stood up by the event coordinator Mike. Had a meeting at the restaurant and after waiting in lounge for a half hour, we were told he left. Not a good impression. No confidence in the service aspect.
