I started doing research on the internet for SF and Marin Orthopedic doctors for my bad knee. I came upon an 'ad' that Dr Mayle was scheduling a webinar to discuss his work, regarding knee and hip replacement. I knew nothing abut the field, but I was impressed with his ability to explain what he does, how he does it, the changes to expect, and the technology he uses. I realized I was dealing here with a modern doctor in a specialty field of medicine. But I did not jump. I kept looking. Nothing I came across was as convincing... read more

I saw Dr. Mayle to get a second opinion on having a hip replacement. The 1st Doctor didn’t take appropriate X-rays & mislead me about some medication. I saw Dr. Mayle and was treated with respect and dignity as a 76 yr old woman. He was professional and kind and took appropriate X-rays, set up a plan, & I am now scheduled for my surgery. I am so thankful that I went to see Dr Mayle. I feel confident now, not scared & confused. He is the best!

I'm 71 years old and had severe left hip osteoarthritis. I am thankful I chose Dr. Mayle for my LTHR. When I met him he impressed me with his confidence, kindness and reassuring nature. His staff were friendly and personable. My surgery was a success and I had no postoperative complications. I communicated with his PA on MyChart and always got a quick response. Now, I'm back taking long walks and exercising. I would highly recommend Dr. Mayle to anyone needing hip surgery!

Dr Mayle was very professional, and reviewed MRI results with me and presented surgical options after my failed course of PT and steroid injection.he sensed my nervousness and suggested i take time to process information and return in 2 weeks to discuss further.

I think Dr Mayle understood that I didn't feel that I was ready yet for hip replacement surgery and so he ordered another cortisone treatment since it seemed to provide relief for enough 6-7 months . We talked about what next steps we'd need to take when I decided that the surgery was needed. I don't get the feeling that he's pushing me into getting surgery before I truly feel it is needed . I will need it , at some point in the future .

Dr. Mayle listened to my complaint, evaluated my hip and explained his diagnosis and most importantly explained how he would correct my problems. Prior to my surgery, his team would quickly answer any questions and post-op, they would answer my questions within the day. I always felt that the team was available to support me. My surgery was successful and I’m happy with my recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Mayle.

Dr Mayle does not rush appointments He is very personable with a great bedside manner, and is thorough in his explanations, while being an experienced excellent physician. I felt confident and relaxed in going to surgery.

Dr. Mayle communicates clearly and is very detail oriented. Every meeting I’ve had with him has been a positive experience. Dr. Mayle is patient and is always able to answer my many questions. A good friend of mine who had Dr. Mayle replace both his hips told he wouldn’t hesitate to have Dr. Mayle replace his 3rd hip if he had one. That pretty much says it all.
