River City Real Estate is HORRIBLE! Bugs, mold, drain clogs, extreme electric bill prices, faulty wiring, fixtures falling off, painted shut windows with extreme air leaks, you name it, this company has it! They had to change their name to Historic Property Management because of the bad reviews. I live in the River City Court area and it's TERRIBLE! Should have read the reviews.... My wife and I drove from Tennessee to look at apartments and small homes to rent earlier this June. Wish we would have looked at the reviews sooner. Admittedly, even showing up to look at these apartments was not a wise decision after my initial dealings with historic properties; however that does not excuse the poor service we received from this business. The AC doesn't work. In fact it breaks monthly. Many times maintenance requests go unanswered, which is great in the middle of summer. My roommate and I will go stay at other people's homes because it is too hot to stay in our own apartment. We have mice. We were told 7 months ago when we signed our lease we would have access to washer/dryer. Still no washer/dryer, despite multiple emails to the management company. They keep telling us "it will be there soon." It would almost be more enjoyable to live in my car. Worst place ... read more

THIS COMPANY IS A SHAM. please email me if you had problems – I'm looking for others who had problems with the company as I did. this place is a joke and let anyone move in and never give back deposits. My stockton st apt. leaked....no....poured water in when it rained. Fleas infested my apartment. I've made complaints and no one answered. I moved out and took them to court. I would love for others to email me or whatever to help my case out. Someone needs to put them out for the crooks they are. Hopefully someone can help.

There are FAR more options to choose from than River City – I remember when I toured my current apartment- it looked decent, livable, well maintained. Two girls lived there. They decorated it nicely, so it looked great. And they were very flirty and conversational when they showed my roommates the place, which looked much better than it actually was, so I guess you could say my idiot friends and I wanted their apartment. Renters BEWARE!!!! – This company is managed by a bunch of children who have no idea what the meaning of "professional" is. Be sure you do your research on THEM and not just the "location" of their properties. READ THE REVIEWS - they speak volumes!! 64 complaints with the Better Business Bureau that they have never responded to! Pay a little extra for what you deserve and you deserve MORE than these people even know how to offer!! My rating for them ... a BIG FAT ZERO!!!

Do NOT rent from these people – They tow registered cars from their parking lots (a convenient arrangement with the towing company I might add) for being a half inch over the line, ignore repeated requests for maintenance until you get in someone's face, and hit you with ridiculous and excessive charges when you finally decide to move out (like charging you a cleaning fee for an apartment left clean - they conveniently missed several scheduled move-out inspections). Very Frustrating Experience – We have been renting from River City for over 1.5 years now. Our first year was great - we loved the apartment. Beautiful floors and windows, new appliances, great location, etc. The few problems we had that required maintenance's attention were minor and addressed in a relatively timely manner. Check the BBB before renting from River City – Even if you think the rent at River City Court is cheap, beware of the following: Take a look at section H of your lease. Here is where they will steal $300 from you upon moving out as a "refurbishment fee," regardless of the condition of the apartment when you left it. Also realize that they will probably not give you your deposit back within the legally-required 45 days.
