About this business

The most important aspect of treating disorders of the hand and upper extremity is making an accurate diagnosis and then instituting the most conservative, least invasive and effective treatment algorithm. Most patients I see do NOT require surgery and can be cured with simple measures. I employ a team of nurses and cetified hand therapists all of whom share the goal of obtaining the best outcome we can, and returning our patients to work and play effectively and quickly

Dr Bernstein did my CTS release surgery and subsequently, a trigger finger surgery. Before, during and after Dr. Bernstein did everything possible to help me manage my pain. On the evening of both surgeries, he personally called to check how I was doing. Dr Bernstein is professional, while also very personable, he took care in letting my partner know when I was done with surgery and when to expect me to be in recovery room. I would highly recommend him!

Business response:

Carmen, I am so glad that both your carpal tunnel and trigger finger have done so well. Your constructive comments about the staff are appreciated and thanks for the feedback. I hope you continue to do well and thanks for your comments.

Dr. Richard Bernstein showed me compassion and concern as he guided me through the healing of my shoulder which I had fractured. I do recommend him without question.

Business response:

Jeanne, It does take a long time for a broken (fractured) shoulder to heal. I am so glad you are doing so well and thanks for your kind comments and thoughts and recommendations.

Dr. Bernstein did my trigger finger and carpool tunnel surgery. Explained everything thoroughly. Surgery was done while I was awake. It was the greatest experience every.

Business response:

Phylis, Wide awake surgery has made outpatient hand surgery in many ways safer and easier for patients. I am glad that it worked out well for you. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with others.

Dr. Bernstein checked my wrist after a fall I had while vacationing in Naples, FL. I was not operated on in FL or CT. Dr. Bernstein saw me when I arrived back home and then had a following visit three months later. All is well. Dr. Bernstein operated on my other wrist nine years ago and I never had any issues with that wrist as well. He is personable and has excellent manners and his staff is great. I would recommend Dr. Bernstein without any hesitation!

I saw Dr. Bernstein for Carpel Tunnel care and eventually he did the surgery for my right hand. I actually watched him perform this surgery as it is done while the patient is awake. He was done in about 10 minutes and I left right after. He called me at my home the night of the surgery to see how I was doing. He is amazing and very thoughtful. I will absolutely go back if my left hand ends up requiring this surgery and highly recommend him to anyone who needs hand surgery!

Dr. Bernstein is one of the most caring, compassionate doctor's I've had the pleasure of being a patient to. He has always been precise and extremely kind when doing procedures on my hand, and elbow. He explains the procedure beforehand, and provides information in detailed about it. He is also very attentive and pleasant...and handsome too!
