This is ridiculous. If my baby is hungry, he should not have to have his face covered or wait until we're somewhere what other people would call "appropriate". If my baby is hungry, he's getting fed then and there, end of story. If you don't like it don't look! Would you rather my child scream bloody murder?
Will not eat there ever again. Manager embarrassed a mother nursing her baby. Manager needs to learn the law, you can not ask a mother nursing her baby to cover up. Makes me want to go put a cover over his head while he eats. I rate no stars.
Please educate your staff and management on current Iowa laws that prohibit them from requesting that patrons "cover up" while feeding their baby in public the way nature intended. Unless the patron is galavanting around the restaurant, breasts flailing in other patrons faces whilst singing "My Milkshake", you have no right to tell her how, where or when to feed her child.
I have eaten at this restaurant many times, I have had many good experiences. I'm sorry to say I won't be eating here again. I was feeding my child and the manager asked me to cover up because a fellow customer was offended. But I was offended, and hurt by this. Covering my daughter has the potential to make her overheat, I can't see her face, so I worry about suffocation, not to mention having your face under a blanket is just plain uncomfortable. This is IF she would leave it on. All I wanted was to eat my food in peace, b... read more
Absolutely DISGUSTED with how your Davenport manager treated a fellow breastfeeding mom! I will never support this company again after a local mom was asked to cover up while feeding her child because another customer felt uncomfortable and you felt it was more "courteous" to embarrass this mom, make her cry, skip her meal, and have the rest of her family take their food to go because they now felt so uncomfortable. What about being courteous to her and her family? And then to top it all off, when confronted the manger has t... read more
I've thought about eating here, but never have. However, after another customers problem with being unlawfully asked to cover herself while breastfeeding her child, I will never eat here. My daughter is exclusively breastfed and she will eat anywhere we are if she is hungry, uncovered. The other patrons who were 'offended' should have been seated elsewhere. Follow the law(federal and state) or close your doors. There's no room for a business who degrades other customers because someone is 'offended' by the natural process of... read more
I've always loved Red Robin and it is one of my go-to restaurants. Unfortunately I don't feel comfortable saying that anymore after a nursing mother was asked to cover up and publicly embarrassed. Further comments from not only the location manager but Red Robin corporate show that they do not care about breastfeeding mothers or the laws put in place to protect us. Hopefully they will change their tune and apologize publicly otherwise I will have to find a different go-to restaurant to give my money to.
