I had a blood test done through Quest, which in the past, has taken two days for results to come back. I was getting concerned after day four and was calling daily to check for results, which I was extremely anxious to get. I was continually told that the results were "pending", with no other explanation. I even had one woman hang up on me when I asked her name. I finally convinced my doctor's office to call and they were told that there was an equipment malfunction and there was no eta as to when it would be up and running.... read more

I tried to call to see if they had my mothers lab orders. They dont answer the phone it now goes to a call center. I drove 30 miles round trip to see if they had the orders and Kathy said they did but they did but it needed clarification. We go 4 times a year but they still need to call the doctor for clarification. They can't look back at all the other test that go back years because they say their supervisor will right them up. Quest diagnostics on Congress Ave. They have increased my bill, AGAIN! I have insurance and decided since they have always padded the bill with my insurance decided to pay cash. Well again they have padded the bill. Thinking I was paid in full leaving the facility a few weeks later received a bill. They have some excuse of needing further testing on the quoted fees I paid cash for. I received lab test results from Quest that I had a negative TB blood test. My doctor never ordered that test, I had a copy of my script and I contacted my doctor to double check that it wasn’t ordered. My doctor’s office contacted Quest and so did I. I am told my insurance won’t be billed. That is good but now I don’t feel confident that the results of the blood tests that were ordered are even mine! I’m forced to use Quest per my insurance but I don’t trust their results!

Quest always tries to force the patient to provide a credit card and charges it even when the patient has full insurance coverage with no copay. They now advise that their new policy is that if you don't provide a debit or credit card they will not provide services, even though they are allegedly providing necessary medical services. They claim that they no longer bill for services even though this is not posted in their office and their website provides options for paying a bill.

Have spent 4 months trying to find a location for immunoglobulin blood draw. Quest locations do not answer phones, patient advocate inferior at best. also had to fight them just for a lipid panel. if you are s medical group it would pay to reconsider your contract with QUEST. i am far from the only disgruntled pstirnt.

For those who are able, sighn up for the online site as you can pay and get your test results in a readable format and track your bill, make payment, etc. This last time I do not think it was my blood that the results were labled and entered. I have certain factors that have not changed in 11 years and was just tested a few months ago with no reason for my condition to disapear. I had two hormone level( estradiol and progesterone) test done on at quest diagnostic for which my insurance denied as non covered services. I received an invoice of $352.80 for those test. When I called quest I explained to them that I am willing to pay as covered or contracted rate whatever my insurance would have paid them, their response NO. Quest Diagnostics will never take the initiative to process your claim through a secondary insurance company even when they receive both the primary AND secondary insurance information from your doctor. They require you call them to tell them something they already know before they will process your claim through your secondary insurance. In my experience, that doesn't mean you won't have to call AGAIN when they don't do it the first time.....or when there is yet another claim filed.
