Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. In fact, Publick House has always been an inn and restaurant except during World War II when it was used by the army. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

Went for a family wedding last night and stayed at the newer building to the left of the main house. It was very nice! Walking in to the building to a sitting area with a fire going was a nice surprise and our room was very nice too. The main house was quaint, warm and cozy and the food was great! So was the bakery downstairs, yum!!
The food and service were amazing! Nice warm cozy atmosphere, perfect for this time of year!
Very nice. And the baked products are amazing!! Brought some home too!!
We are inSturbridge several times a year and always stop at the Publick House for lunch or dinner. We will continue to do so
The pecan sticky rolls are to die for! Love staying at the historic inn. Food is wonderful and the rooms are private and cozy. Excellent service!
Arrived at 5pm to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Left at 8:15pm because of excruciatingly slow service. Waitress was very nice, when we saw her. Food was ok, but the wait for it was too too long, especially for a Monday night.

James Kluge Director of Food and Beverage. Thank you very much for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
We were there for a family wedding and I have to say I was a little worried about the venue. It blew me away everything was beautiful, food was excellent the staff were very accommodating. The wedding and breakfast the next day were wonderful. My accommodations were great. This city dweller was quite surprised how beautiful rustic can be!
The inn staff checked us in quickly and were very friendly. The dinner at the Tap Room was delicious and the wait staff was great!
My husband and I were recently married at The Publick House Historic Inn. Our ceremony was held at the Arbor and our reception was in Paige Hall. The venue is simply gorgeous and was everything we could have hoped for. And the food was just amazing! We were blown away by the the staff members professionalism, kindness and thoughtfulness. There wasn’t a single detail that was forgotten. They are great at what they do and at making you feel like you’re the only couple to have been married there. Thank you to all who made our w... read more
