Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. In fact, Publick House has always been an inn and restaurant except during World War II when it was used by the army. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Accommodations were very comfortable. I came up here by myself to relax. Next time I’ll have to bring my family Thanks so much for my birthday getaway
This place will always be special to me and my husband! Staff was amazing and a huge help! Our wedding was even better than we could have imagined and The Publick House made it all happen!
Unbelievably great staff very accommodating helped us when any problems we had definitely a five-star experience
Historic inn with excellent but very pricey food. Lunch for two was 60.00 with a coupon! But the lobster pie had huge amounts of lobster including whole claw meat and a huge tail. Our second time and we will be back after a lot more money is saved for such a meal.
Love, the atmosphere, the food, the grounds, everything about it!
Every chance I get to stop at this fabulous establishment I take. Sometimes it is just the bakery but other times it includes dinner and an overnight stay. Last night I enjoyed a delicious prime rib dinner and bakery treats for a late desert. Not only was the food very good, but the service was beyond gracious. I can't wait to come back!
We held a luncheon at the Publick House in honor of my Mother-in-law after her funeral. Everyone was so helpful. The food was delicious and the setting was beautiful (outside in the tent). Everyone enjoyed themselves and my mother-in-law would have been so pleased. The assistant manager (sorry I cannot remember his name!) even went out of his way to get a football and frisbee for my 2 y... read more

I had my baby shower at the Publick House in Paige hall yesterday and it was amazing! The space was so beautiful without me even having to decorate! And the staff were so nice and accommodating they knew exactly what I needed and how to make my shower run smoothly, and they even helped my dad and husband carry all my gifts to the car. All in all I am blown away and would suggest anyone book this beautiful historic inn for their function!
