Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. In fact, Publick House has always been an inn and restaurant except during World War II when it was used by the army. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

Turkey dinner is always delicious (best stuffing ever), but most dinners are overpriced ($27 for a sirloin steak?). Atmosphere is nice. Pecan rolls in bread basket are delicious.
My streak tips were excellent cooked just right. My companions had turkey dinners which are always outstanding! And of course we had our favorite waiter, Micah, who is the best.
My serving was large enough to feed my entire family of five (and most of my hometown), but I ate it all myself-delicious!
LOVE THIS PLACE! So "New Englandy!" My niece had her wedding there a few years ago, and it was FANTASTIC! Very charming, great food, atmosphere, loved it all!
We really love the public house go there often for dinner place is always nicely decorated ,romantic ,food is excellent, staff very accommodating, one of our favorite places to dine

We decided to have lunch here. We got seated within a few minutes which was good. Waitress came right away to take our drink orders. It took a longer time to receive our food. I was going to say something about my food being cold, but since it is was a open turkey sandwich I received hot gravy to pour on it. My husband hamburger looked dry, burnt and cold, which it was. Disappointed
We had our wedding there yesterday and it truly went off without a hitch! Guests loved the DJ and flowers, and they stated the Publick House banquet staff were super responsive. Amber, Anthony, Nicole and everyone was fabulous. We had the wedding of our dreams!
get the lobster pie and stop into the bakery for a treat after!
