Thank you to all of our loyal customers and greetings to those of you who are just now finding us. We have had the pleasure (and sometimes headaches) of being in the hospitality business for over 30 years. We are continuing in our tradition of presenting wonderful ingredients and offering a world class collection of Wines, Ports and Madeira to match. We have kept many of our upscale Indian dishes and added some exciting non-Indian dinners with our Chef's Whimsy Wine Paired events. We are still located in the Meirs mansion on... read more

Delightfully authentic Indian cuisine. – This was certainly not my first dining experience at Plainfield's Mayur, however, it was the first in about 6 months....and the first time I was actually inspired to write a review. Plainfield's has been a long time favorite of my family, and we were delighted to return after a less than satisfactory experience a few months ago, and find both the food quality and service restored to the former excellence we had come to revere at this fine restaurant. We discovered there is now a new c... read more
Very Romantic, but service was a little slow – We were new to Indian food, but were very pleased with what we found and Plainfields. We enjoyed the cozy setting and had a real great time. Service was slow, but I believe it was actually intentional. (trying to allow us time to talk and enjoy the environment)
Best Indian in the United States – I love this restaurant. Every time we go, whether it's for Valentines Day or just because I'm craving the Dahi Wadas, we always have a great time and leave feeling as though we've had the best meal of our lives. The staff at Plainfields are all very knowledgeable, friendly and great to talk with. Highly Recommended!!!!
Could be great, but isn't. Bad and slow customer service, luke-warm food, expensive. – I went with a group of 9 on Friday night. The number in the reservation fluctuated a bit, but the flexability at this resteraunt was horrible. First, they sat us at 2 tables for almost an hour without coming to take drink orders. Oddly, it appeared that they purposefully avoided eye contact with anyone at our tables. Nearly an hour after we sat, the waiter came to take our order, but a significant portion of their menu was no longer availa... read more
Worst Service Ever – I went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration and was so surprised at how poor the service and friendliness of that staff was. They had signs and plaquards up about how "great" they were, which was all false. Our waiter never brought us menus, the water filler lady did, and they neglected to tell us that they were out of chicken! How can a restaurant that is "high end" run out of items like that? To make matters worse, the waiter did not take our order for 49 minutes. Yes 49. When he did come and ... read more
Gimme Naan of that – This place has such potential that it is truly sad that it lives up to their bad reputation. The house is beautiful, the artwork is great, and the location could be perfect for an off-the-main-drag Indian restaurant. I read the bad reviews and thought, "How could it be that bad?" I went to see for myself and give it a try. I love Indian food. Indian food loves me. Unfortunately, Plainfield's failed to disprove any of their bad reviews. The service was slow (we waited 45 minutes at our reserved table befo... read more
Bad Service Bad Food – This is not good Indian food, will not go back again. Slow service and food was not seasoned properly. Disappointing.
Salty Food and Bad Service – Went here for a special occasion and the food was cold and salty. Considering there were only 2 other parties of 2 and 4 in the restaurant, the service was very slow. I have had better Indian food in the Beaverton area and the Silicon Valley. This place does not match it's reputation.
This is Indian food? – I've eaten at scores of Indian places all over the western US, and one thing is certain - I've never had Indian food quite like Plainfield Mayur's. Maybe this sounds like a good thing. It isn't. To be fair, I must say that our Dahi Wada was excellent. Unfortunately, everything is unusually expensive. Our food was excessively greasy and bland. The royal biryani ($18) was drenched in butter and, sadly, sorely lacking flavor. We were so disappointed that we took more than half of our food to go and let it... read more
