I am 67 years old, a former college football running back, former marathon runner, and a former competitive racquetball player. For the past 6 years, 3 in Irvine, CA. and the last 3 here in Scottsdale, I have had 4 different orthopedic surgeons advise me that, because there was no visible sign of cartilage located on the inner side of both knees, my only option to stop my joint pain was complete knee replacement for both knees. When I moved to Scottsdale 3 years ago I was on and off of crutches every few weeks and averaging ... read more

I have been s patient of Dr. Crooks for several years now and have had excellent care from everyone in the office. Ramona and Maria are quick to respond to questions, concerns, and definitely add a little humor in an already painful situation. I have several complicated conditions and Dr. Crooks goes above and beyond expectations to provide the best treatment possible. He definitely knows his stuff! I recently met with his partner, Dr. DeGroot, and I am pleased by his professionalism and knowledge of my case before he even w... read more

I have suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 9 years after failed oral surgery.I have been on every combination of medication known to man with no relief. I came to Dr. Crooks and knew instantly that I was in the right place. Not only was he patient and kind, but he also is brilliant and thinks outside the box. He is devoted to his patients and to restoring their health. We discussed my history and he suggested stem cell therapy. If you are living with chronic pain, you are willing to try anything to get your life back. It ... read more

I have been extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to be cared for and treated by Dr. Crooks and his entire staff. I not only have had 95% relief from the OA pain in my lower and mid back section, but was treated so respectfully. These people truly care about each individual with unique pain situations. I have suffered off and on for many years and have had highs and lows, in my pain levels, also having to take increased doses of medication. I'm so happy to say that the relief has been so significant that I only take ... read more

I was in a car accident in 1999.Burst fracture T12, Spinal fusion T8 through L2.For the first 10 years the pain was manageable, but of course with L3,4,5 doing all the work, the pain got worse and worse.I began pills in '09, injections 2011.Sometimes the injections would give me some relief, other times none at all.Always, the pain would come back within weeks if not days. For the next five years I would periodically try it again,I would switch doctors and give the new guy a chance. The results were dissappointing but I kept doin... read more

My time at Pinnacle Spine and Pain was wonderful considering all the pain I had. Dr Crooks was able to relieve my pain without narcotics after several visits. Surgery was a last recommendation. His advice was always well taken and respected. He is so thorough and was able to explain everything to me and spend all the time needed to listen to my history. Never did I feel pushed for time even though he is very busy. His staff is very accommodating, efficient and pleasant as well. I could not have been more fortunate to... read more
