They use deceptive sales tactics and sell you a product that falls far short of their promises. I should have avoided dealing with this company for sure. Do not purchase from these people if you're expecting to get your dream vacations from this. And don't listen to their sales pitch. Yearly dues are high, and usage is not very easy even if you are tens of thousand invested in their program. Definitely one of the worst investments of my life. We purchased a timeshare plan with Bluegreen Vacations back in 1997. We had a fixed week and were somewhat happy with it. Then, we were "introduced" to the new points-system Bluegreen changed to, and disappointment came quickly afterwards. We were seldom able to book at the resorts we wanted, even though we were "assured" this new points-system would allow us to experience more resorts and more opportunities to vacation. We joined Bluegreen in 1998 when it was still relatively small. We've watched the company grow over the years and have repeatedly bought more points because we like where the company is heading. Timeshare Companies are always going to get their fair share of complaints; primarily because people buy into a product that they don't really know and understand. After falling for Bluegreen's "trusting" sales pitch in 2006, we have been in a constant state of disappointment. We endured 3+ hours of salespeople "convincing" us that purchasing the timeshare would be more beneficial for our family than anything else and that we were "investing" in our future. I recently attended a Bluegreen vacations sales seminar in Williamsburg VA and was favorably impressed. The information was clear and concise. The presentation was focused and stayed short. The one-on-one with the sales representative was informative. I did sign up but a few days later exercised my cancellation option within the time period ( seven or ten days I I don't recall at the moment). I thought I would get a 3 nights stay at Mrytle Beach, however everytime I tried to book the room they could never guarantee me a hotel near the beach.. who wants to stay in Mrytle Beach but not near the beach? First bad experience. Second bad experience is when my dog gets into a fight and ends up seriously hurt. I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the customer service and substandard accommodations I have received since becoming 1 of 4 new BlueGreen Owners. I initially purchased a great deal on a vacation from Outdoor World for Valentines Day 2018. I was excited because my husband and I needed the break and it was certainly an opportunity worth purchasing. my husband and I purchased a discounted or "free vacation" with this company at our local bass pro shop store. The woman that sold this to us said that our stay would be covered at one of their choice hotels in one of their locations by paying a "low price" of $199 and also by attending their 2 hour timeshare seminars on the last day of our vacation with NO OBLIGATION to purchase and that we would also receive bass pro shop gift cards worth $100. Just all lies!!! Their so call vacation deal is not a deal at all! Beware of all the hidden fee and requirements. You have to pay this pay that, do this do that, and will find out later if you even qualify for the deal after wasting your value time and money. Not worth it!!! Will only ruin your vacation. I haven't even take the vacation and already paid more than what it would cost me to stay at the actual resort.
