I had both of my hips replaced at Eastside and I've never had a better experience in a hospital. THe staff in the joint center is amazing, and I was so happy when I came back for my second surgery and saw ALL of the same people that were there for the first one! Liz, Lori, Mary Lynn, Vee, Demi, Steven, and the gentlemen that assisted in Physical Therapy are all amazing! I recommend Eastside for anyone that needs a joint replacement. I went to visit a friend, I asked where the stairs are. No one knew. I asked for the hospital lay out, I couldn't find one posted. There was no one at the desk, I had to ask the lady in the gift shop, she didn't know either but there was a phone at the desk I could call - so I did, he didn't know where the stairs were either. This is such a fire hazard, I was tempted to contact the fire marshal. Refusing to give up b/c I knew there had to be stairs, finally a nurse showed us where they were and they were not easy to find. Terrible experience. Arrived before 11AM. Taken back 2am. X-ray then doctors ask why I did not take my dad back to Lawrenceville. Because I live closer to Eastside. Well Lawrenceville is a trama center and they will treat your dad better and faster. Why the he!! did you make us wait 3 1/2 hrs for that. Start to leave and they want is to wait for paperwork!!!! You have to be F kidding me. We will never be back to this facility.
All of my Nurses and Patient Techs on the 4th floor surgical wing were wonderful. Special thanks to CNA Debbie she is awesome. Nurse Drew, BJ and Dalisha are awesome as well. I could not ask for a better staff to take care of me during my stay. They all are sympathetic to your needs and overall just good people. DO NOT TAKE LOVED ONES TO THIS PLACE. This hospital is seriously understaffed, and patient care is not just subpar, but patients' lives are in jeopardy. One Doctor (Hospitalist) on call for the entire Hospital? Multiple examples, both from our personal experience and those of others being misdiagnosed, ignored, and harmed due to staff shortage, overworking staff, and loss of compassion.
