Paying for what the offered, being honest thats how they can improve
I wish I had better things to say about Pets Best because years ago they really were the best pet insurance carrier but not so much now. Once your pet reaches a certain age all claims decisions are made subjectively and not based on fact. They purposely slow down the process by sending for medical records which creates more work for my Vet and claims are denied anyway! My dogs claims are continually denied because PB subjectively concludes that HER CANCER IS AN ALLERGY!!!!!! Their system of appeal is not consumer friendly at... read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but feel so taken advantage of, I just couldn't remain silent on this one. Unless you have a puppy with NO prior medical records, do NOT get Pets Best. Even then I wouldn't. My dog is 4 and has a history of skin allergies, very common for a pit bull. She was playing around, hurt her ear and it blew up (aural hematoma). She had to have surgery. My dog has lymphoma cancer. It’s so easy to make claims, get paid and know I can lover her and not worry about dealing with insurance. I get about a five day turn around time with claims and payment.
They were so great when my cat was sick, that when a stray dog started showing up and became ours (over time), I didn't think anything about adding her to the insurance. Now, thousands of dollars of denied claims later, I take back all my positive word of mouth about this company. I plan to cancel and switch to Healthy Paws, which seems to be preferred on Yelp. Really disappointed in the way this company has declined, in terms of payouts, customer service, time turnaround, and general accessibility.
Sadly, I was referred to them based off of a rough quote for a cat at $12/month. Turned in to $69/month real quick for a health cat. Beware!
