Aside from pictures with my ****s outdated kitchen (very bad shape) and bathroom, my cracked driveway and garage slab, i also included an offer for the house for $290K !!It took them almost a year to get back to me.They reduced the value of my house from $390K to $380K. Whoopteedoo!A complete waste of my time -- and theirs i might add!This is not a personal attack on them but if that is the best they can do, really why bother?

They did lower my property tax 15k below this year's assessed value. If I do a quick math their estimate of savings does seem to be in correct ballpark, so I sent them payment. I think sending evidence of my house cracking mortar, and water pooling in the back did help. They can't fight without any ammo. Saved me time and paperwork, so that was the whole point. I think it's a good service. The assessor office did confirm that the assessment was debated by them, so it's not like they did nothing.

This was a horrible experience! Ownwell took forever and when they finally did send me notification, they ended up lowering my property tax value from $231K to $230K. WOW!!! I should've done it myself like I do every year. I would've saved myself a whole lot more money had I just done it myself. Never again!!

I would not recommend. They got the assessed value to the purchase price less than a year ago. I have done this on my other properties on my own. The whole point of hiring Ownwell was to fight it below this value. I mentioned this at the beginning. I even sent them tons of documentation and evidence on depreciated aspects of the house. I was never told why it was not successful. Very useless service and waste of money. I would have sent the closing documents to the county myself had I known.

The process has been taking too long. I decided to cancel it but they would not let me. Its clearly stated on their website that you can cancel anytime. I would NOT trust this company.

The outrageous claim that they effectively reduced my home taxes... I copied my response to this company below. Their desire to apologize is fine, but this is their business specialty. I do not take an "oversight" as an excuse. They claimed they represented me at the county appraisal office and that is FALSE. Wanted to let you know that I appreciate your services. I've done my own appeals in the past, but sometimes life gets in the way and you need to let someone else step in and do the driving. You've done a very good job and I will be recommending using you in the future. David S

Didnt hear back after the claim was filed. Not even a single communication. Property tax wasnt reduced a single dollar.

Did what they said they would do. Will use again. Hope they open offices in other states too!
