Very good company for unusual travel experiences, especially for single travelers.
Have only done one trip with them so far, but I plan to do more, as the first was fantastic from beginning to end. Could not ask for more knowledgeable trip directors or local guides.
OAT is fantastic. Travelled to NZ and Best of Kenya and Tanzania with them, both outstanding!! Small groups, excellent cultural experiences and just plain fun.
We've travelled with OAT 13 times from Bhutan to Rapa Nui (Easter Island), between and beyond. We love the home visits, small groups, and quaint hotels instead of Hiltons. Our trip leaders have always been excellent. Some, so memorable that they change your life. We are confident that they are on top of hazards as well as they can be. Don't be misled by imposter companies trying to look like OAT on the web.
After reading the reviews on this OAT FB site, I just have to say that in all the trips I/we (11 or 12) have taken with OAT and GC, we have never once been unhappy with anything. Everything is top quality for a great price. I have friends who have done trips with other companies and have come home with the most horrible stories. The OAT guides, food, accommodations, itineraries, communication, etc., all have been top notch. I wouldn't think of traveling with anyone else!
When I intend to spend thousands of dollars with a company for a trip to Africa, I do not want to be placed on hold for 30-60 minutes to make an itinerary adjustment or make a final payment. Never would I work with this company again. Too disrespectful of clients' time. Listen OAT - you are not the only online travel agency out there. Look else where folks.
It is Saturday morning and I have now been on hold for 35 minutes. Thursday I was on hold for 25 minutes. I have trying to pay a small charge. I just returned from a OAT trip which was wonderful but this poor customer service leaves me very frustrated. I am going to have to think long and hard about another trip.
